Clematis X 'Jackmanii'
Summer flowers emerge blueish purple in July/August. Variety was hybridized way back in 1863. This is a shorter variety growing to 10' tall. Jackmanni is a group 3 for pruning purposes. This means it blooms on new and old wood.While the foliage enjoys the sun, shading the root zone with mulch or an underplanting will help to keep the plant vigorous. Clematis are deer resistant.
