Genus - Deutzia

Deutzia is commonly known by it's genus name. There are over 60 species in the genus. The genus is named after Dutch botanical patron Johann van der Deutz. They are attractive to birds and some species are fragrant.

Culture - Plant in sun to mostly sun sitings. Deutzia will tolerate light shade. Grows in a wide range of soils and prefers a more neutral pH. Deutzia blooms on old wood so pruning should be done shortly after blooms are spent.
